Passionate about Thai heritage, travel artisans by nature, bespoke creators by conviction.
We work as travel artisans: deliberately human-sized, driven by an uncompromising attention to detail. Each experience is private, bespoke, and enriched with the context that gives it meaning, the kind that transforms a remarkable place into an unforgettable memory.

Bangkok
Rock Around Bangkok brings together a collection of private, themed, and bespoke cultural experiences designed to reveal the Thai capital far beyond conventional tourist routes. Conceived for discerning travellers, the programme offers a more cultivated, nuanced, and embodied approach to Bangkok, paying particular attention to what gives meaning to places: their history, their uses, their atmospheres, their heritage, and their transformations since the fall of Ayutthaya in 1767.
At Rock Around Siam, we do not approach the discovery of Bangkok as a simple succession of visits. Each itinerary is conceived as a reading of the city, built around a clear thread, a precise narrative, and a demanding selection of locations. This methodology sheds light on Bangkok through its historical layers, urban development, communities, artistic expressions, river landscapes, and contemporary dynamics. Travel then takes on another depth: it is no longer simply about seeing, but about contextualising in order to understand more deeply, immersing oneself in the longue durée while ensuring that the experience remains engaging and enjoyable.
The Rock Around Bangkok collection is composed of six complementary cultural experiences. Rock Around Creative District explores the city through art, design, and architecture. Rock Around Rattanakosin offers a historical and political reading of the capital’s foundation, examining royal power, religion, urban planning, and military heritage. Rock Around Bang Krachao reveals a greener, more organic Bangkok through the balance between communities, environmental preservation, and sustainable initiatives. Bangkok As You Like It and Bangkok-by-Night provide a fully personalised exploration, designed according to each traveller’s interests and rhythm. Bangkok Iconic revisits the city’s major heritage landmarks with a strong emphasis on historical, aesthetic, and cultural perspective.
To this collection is added Bangkok Tridimensional, an ultra-premium immersion conceived as a spatial, sensory, and singular reading of Bangkok through three dimensions: Earth, Water, and Air. The experience is structured around a journey through the historic districts by electric tuk-tuk, a private hacker-craft-style cruise along the heritage stretch of the river, and a memorable helicopter flight over the capital at sunset.
Through Rock Around Bangkok, we offer a true immersion grounded in the conviction that culture remains one of the finest paths towards an intimate understanding of Bangkok.

Ayutthaya
Rock Around Ayutthaya offers an embodied exploration of the former capital of Siam through one-, two-, or three-day programmes designed to reveal the artisanal, historical, and diplomatic depth of this major cultural territory. Far from an approach limited to iconic ruins, the experience invites travellers to read Ayutthaya as a living ensemble, shaped by royal power, Buddhism, international exchanges, and the continuity of ancestral craftsmanship.
Designed for travellers attentive to the meaning of places, the itinerary unfolds by bicycle, tuk-tuk, or a combination of both, at a flexible pace conducive to observation, contextualisation, and a more nuanced understanding of the former royal city.
Each format corresponds to a different level of immersion. The one-day experience offers a dense and structured introduction to Ayutthaya’s historical and spiritual heritage. The two-day programme broadens the perspective to include artisanal heritage, exceptional craftsmanship, and the great aesthetic narratives of the kingdom. Finally, the three-day version delves deeper into Ayutthaya’s diplomatic legacy, particularly the singular relationship between Siam and France at the end of the seventeenth century, linking Ayutthaya, Lopburi, Brest, and Versailles.

Kanchanaburi
Around one hundred kilometres west of Bangkok, Rock Around Kanchanaburi offers a peaceful one- or two-day cultural immersion into a province where vast natural landscapes, sites of sacrificial memory, and Khmer and Buddhist religious legacies combine to create a territory of rare historical depth.
Designed for travellers attentive to the authenticity of places, the beauty of natural environments, and the quality of pace, this programme invites guests to discover Kanchanaburi in all its historical and natural richness.
Far from an approach limited to simple leisure travel, the experience explores the province as a major setting in the history of modern Siam and in the memory of the Second World War in Southeast Asia — during the Japanese occupation and the construction of the Death Railway, intended to link Thailand with Burma.
Each stage of the journey is carefully placed within its historical, geographical, and human context, offering a more accurate, sensitive, and nuanced understanding of the region.
The two-day programme extends the experience with an overnight stay in a high-comfort floating resort on the River Kwai, in the heart of a remarkably preserved natural environment. This option adds a more exclusive and contemplative dimension to the journey, combining riverside dining, jungle atmosphere, and a rare moment of tranquillity.
The following morning, a private motorboat journey upstream along the River Kwai to the suspension bridge of Ban Hat Ngio further deepens the experience, creating a more intimate connection with the landscape, the river, and the singular atmosphere of Kanchanaburi.

Isaan (Nord-est)
Rock Around Isaan is an invitation to discover Thailand’s Northeast differently, through a 7-day, 6-night cultural road trip designed as a rare immersion into one of the country’s most endearing and least explored regions. Between Udon Thani (Stage 1), Sakon Nakhon (Stage 2), and Nakhon Phanom (Stage 3), this exclusive three-part itinerary reveals an Isaan that is discreet, profound, luminous, and spiritual, far removed from conventional tourist routes.
Here, travel unfolds on another scale. Rural landscapes open wide, red lotus lakes stretch endlessly into the horizon, forests remain ever-present, distances breathe, villages retain their own rhythm, and the Mekong asserts its age-old presence as a lifeline of memory, exchange, and continuity. Isaan reveals itself through the gentleness of slow travel, the simplicity of sincere encounters, and the beauty of a territory where authenticity has not been erased by tourism staging.
This journey has been designed to provide access to a more inward, nuanced, cultivated, and rural Thailand, rural in the noblest sense of the word, far removed from persistent clichés. It brings into dialogue vast agricultural plains, Buddhist sanctuaries, Lao, Khmer, and Christian heritage, artisanal know-how, archaeological sites, local traditions, and Mekong towns shaped by multiple influences. Each stage sheds light on a different facet of the region, with a constant concern for placing every site within its historical, cultural, and human depth.
Rock Around Isaan is neither a simple tour nor a standardised road trip. It is a journey of understanding, designed for travellers sensitive to culture, rurality, traditions, authenticity, and the singularity of places. A rarer, more demanding, and ultimately more meaningful way of discovering Thailand.
Expanding Our Cultural Experiences Across Thailand
Beyond the programmes already available, Rock Around Siam is gradually extending its collection of itineraries towards other major regions of Thailand.
From Sukhothai, cradle of the first great Siamese kingdom, to the accessible northern provinces of Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, shaped by Lanna heritage and Burmese influences, and further into the mountainous frontiers of the northwest, between Mae Salong and Mae Hong Son, our attention turns to regions whose cultural, historical, and natural richness deserves a thoughtful and fully contextualised approach. Further south, the Andaman Sea opens an entirely different landscape, with remarkable national parks, preserved coastlines, and fishing communities that continue to sustain ways of life deeply connected to their environment.
Each destination is conceived according to the Rock Around Siam signature: immersive, demanding, and genuinely off-the-beaten-path journeys, designed through the lens of culture, history, religions, art, nature, gastronomy, local communities, festivals, and living traditions.
Far removed from standardised itineraries, we favour a form of discovery rooted in the quality of encounters, the intelligence of places, and the depth of storytelling.
These future programmes will enrich our offering with the same commitment to meaning, comfort, and singularity, providing a more nuanced, sensitive, and enduring understanding of Thailand.

Eric Monteil
Founder | CEO | Chief Experience Designer
Eric Monteil is a French entrepreneur based in Bangkok since 2011, founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Chief Experience Officer of Rock Around Siam. Beyond his executive responsibilities, Eric personally designs the immersive cultural experiences offered by the agency, intended for discerning Western travellers wishing to discover or deepen their understanding of Siam’s cultural heritage.
A recognised local insider and deeply involved in the world of visual arts since the opening of his art gallery Rock Around Asia in 2011, Eric has spent more than fifteen years mapping Bangkok and Thailand. He has transformed this field knowledge and understanding of heritage into narrative-driven itineraries with strong cultural value. His methodology is rooted in curation, research, balance, rhythm, rigorous production standards, and carefully selected encounters, so that heritage is not merely visited, but truly understood and transmitted.
Eric had long observed that the richness and depth of Thailand’s cultural heritage were not being showcased to their full extent, and that so-called “cultural” commercial offerings rarely went beyond the value proposition of the mass market. Very little exists beyond the standard highlights such as the Grand Palace, a few sacred temples, a stroll through Chinatown, or weekend floating markets. Yet Bangkok extends far beyond these tourist itineraries: its turbulent history began as early as the mid-17th century with King Narai of Ayutthaya, the arrival of the Jesuits, and Louis XIV’s unfinished ambition to establish a lasting French presence in Siam.
In the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic, Eric transformed this vision into an opportunity and founded Rock Around Bangkok in 2024, with the ambition of bringing greater depth to cultural visits by making the promotion of Siam’s heritage a central and uncompromising mission. He then devoted nearly two years to designing and testing, under real conditions, thematic itineraries aimed at offering a deeper understanding of the origins of Bangkok, a capital as enigmatic as it is iconic, shaped by four successive kingdoms (Sukhothai, Ayutthaya, Thonburi, and Rattanakosin) and nearly a thousand years of history.
From Bangkok to Ayutthaya and Kanchanaburi, the next logical step was to apply the same methodology across the whole of Thailand in order to promote Siam’s heritage in all its splendour, depth, and subtlety, naturally leading to the transformation of Rock Around Bangkok into Rock Around Siam.
Graduated in physics and chemistry and holder of an Executive MBA in France, Eric is also passionate about motorcycles and air sports.

Orapin Suwanmanee
Executive Director | Partner
Orapin Suwanmanee (Pam) places particular importance on promoting Thai heritage through the design of immersive cultural experiences. She oversees all operations in Thailand to ensure that every programme developed and delivered by the agency becomes a distinctive journey, offering discerning international travellers a historical and contextualised understanding of the evolution of Siam, from the first Kingdom of Sukhothai to Rattanakosin, and onwards to contemporary Bangkok.
With more than twenty years of experience in the architecture sector, Orapin has developed a strong leadership style and a pragmatic approach that is resolutely off the beaten path. She works to establish long-term collaborations with DMCs, luxury hotels, fine dining establishments, and the various stakeholders involved in on-the-ground activities (tours, workshops, festivals, treks, etc.), with the dual objective of supporting local communities while ensuring an impeccable level of service for a particularly demanding Western clientele.
Orapin firmly believes that the promotion of Thai cultural heritage still falls short of reflecting the true richness of Siam’s multifaceted and centuries-old legacy. This conviction fuels her commitment to supporting and advancing the vision embodied by Rock Around Siam.
