This journey explores Bangkok’s creative pulse, where contemporary art, architecture, design, antiques and street art form a constant dialogue between memory and modernity. From the cultural revival of Charoen Krung, whose emblematic alleyways have been transformed by street art, to institutions dedicated to design, contemporary art and antiques, alongside a remarkably legible post-colonial architectural heritage, the itinerary narrates the transformation of historic districts. Rock Around Rattanakosin
Here unfolds the foundational story of Bangkok. Through royal monuments, military fortifications, networks of moats and canals, sacred temples and ministerial buildings erected under Italian influence at the end of the nineteenth century, the itinerary retraces the city’s trajectory from its foundation in 1782 to 1932, when the absolute monarchy became constitutional following a coup d’état.
